Spring Success and Exciting New Projects at the Nursery

We’ve had a fantastic spring here at the nursery, and as the weather warms, our propagation program is in full swing. Paul has been busy collecting seeds from our local natives plants, which have just finished flowering. It’s an exciting time as these seeds will become the foundation for future plantings in our community.

Our dedicated volunteers continue to be the backbone of our operations, assisting with everything from weeding to propagating. Without their help, we wouldn’t be able to achieve what we do, so a huge thank you to all who contribute their time and effort.

You may remember that back in autumn, a massive river red gum was uprooted and fell in the nursery. While it was a loss, it has created an exciting opportunity! We’re transforming the area into a small frog pond, complete with water-loving native plants. Thanks to a generous donation from Bunnings, we now have a pond liner to bring this project to life.

We’ll need a few extra hands to help establish the pond. If you’re interested in lending a hand, please get in touch with Ninna via nursery@trla.org.au — we’d love to have your support in creating this new habitat for local frogs and other wildlife.

We’d also love to see you at the nursery! We’re open from 9 AM to 2 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Whether you’d like to browse, purchase a beautiful native plant, or find a unique Christmas gift, we’re here to help. Come and visit us—we’d love to see you!

Thank you for being part of our journey, and we look forward to sharing more updates as the pond and other projects take shape!
